Richard Begay (1943–2013) was a celebrated and award-winning Navajo master silversmith known for his exquisite mosaic and channel inlay work. He was born and raised in Navajoland, Arizona and became tenured at the Santa Fe Indian Market. His work is featured in permanent collections at the Smithsonian Institution and Heard Museum.
This oval buckle features a classic Navajo motif incorporating a polished bear claw tucked under a heavy silver cap, accented by a turquoise cabochon, a Mediterranean coral stick, and appliqué feathers.
Stamped. Fits a 1 3/4 inch belt or smaller. Belt not included, but the one shown is available elsewhere on the site.
